Red Tag - revised

Fishing in Italy asks for a national licenze and is open all year round with a number of limitations. Rivers where trout are present cannot be fished from the first Sunday of October to the last Sunday of February but there are many exceptions (earlier opening or delayed closing, this depending on local regulations). Chub, Barbel, Pike, Grayling, Carp, Black Bass (just to mention fly takers) have their “closed periods”, which is not the same in every province. No-Kill stretches have their own open/closed months and special rules. Wading is permitted everywhere (but not encouraged) with very few exceptions.

Fishing Tips : The original Reg Tag is known as a deadly fly for grayling but is excellent also for trout and chub. Due to lack of material, this pattern was tied using pheasant tail fibers instead of peacock herls: this didn’t minimize the results and is now widly used on our rivers.
