Fishing the Biedano means casting the fly only yards from ancient tombs and Etruscan and medieval remains not far from Blera and Barbarano Romano. It has only cyprinids, being the water too warm (also in Winter) and not enough oxygenated for trout but the environment is so enchanting somehow hard to be fished.
In Summer, trees and bushes almost cover the river and offer shelter to fish and anglers. Terrestrials are without any doubt the best fly to be used staying well concealed to fish’s sight. The cast should be “noisy” to attract the attention of the fish which often rise noisily and violently from the bottom.
